claudia phillips & the kicks' video for 'quel soci la boetie' has a lot of strange elements. children in a photobooth, little people in monochromatic sweatsuits jumping, old ladies in muumuus dancing, german guys touching each other's faces, twin girls with weird braids, a baby man in a diaper with a fly on his head, men in suits, and lots and lots of face making. but who cares the song is so catchy! 'cache ta joie' is a bit more subdued but it still got the weirdness. lots of dogs bopping to the beat, forming letters of the alphabet with people's bodies plus some sign language? duh, that's a totally standard music video plot!

apparently the techno viking is an internet phenomenon and i don't know how i didn't know about him! this video is so pumpthatjam material its insane. i love how he forces the guy to leave in the beginning and keeps pointing. and when he's walking and dancing it is the pinnacle of amazingness!!! this video makes me want to be an invisible observer of the love parade but never actually go there because everyone looks really really scary.

another gem from our friends over in eastern europe that i discovered on youtube. this video is perfection. matching black pants and unbuttoned white shirts with gold chains on a bare chest plus sunglasses plus windblown ponytail plus skinny mustache that frames chin = amazing. love the random dancing on the red balcony thing and the choreographed arm dancing on the beach at 1:19. i hope to see characters like these next time i go to the beach.

backstreet boys are my fave boy band, besides o-town of course. all their jams are so catchy and have a lil bit of thug in there. check aj's big hoops on both ears. 'get down' is one of their first hits and the video is totally amazing. 'we've got it goin' on' is also a lesser known song that packs a phat beat and some very intense growl singing by aj in this performance. i found some very very early clips of bsb practicing that are pretty hilar. little nick is such a cutie patootie! here's two bonus pics of nick kissing a dolphin and with some puppy wuppies.

italo duo scotch make a wacky pair. their video for 'mirage' involves mini versions of themselves dancing arm in arm on someone's drink, dancing on an open book, jumping on piano keys, running on a record and making an appearance in the mona lisa. is this video for real? oh wait, no, it's a mirage! things just get weirder in 'delirio mind,' especially the girl wearing the top with red circles to indicate her nipple placement. not amazing.

barbie and the rockers was my fave fave favorite video when i was little. now watching the clips again on youtube it makes sense why i loved it: fashion + music + outer space = my life. i wanna be in a concert on a giant flower base orbiting earth with giant curly blonde bangs. i like the song 'dressing up' and the barbie and the rockers theme song the best.
