first of all, kai tracid is like the COOLEST name i err heard. the blonde girl in 'destiny's path' and 'liquid skies' is hellaaaaaa amazing new style iconnnn. the music is pretty deep trance but the talking over the tracks is so ominous and weird that i LUV it. it reminds me of this tv show 'the tribe' i used to watch about new zealander teens in the future. 'trance and acid' is prutty trippy and 'too many times' shows the dark side of the klub. IT'S DESTINY'S PATHHH!!!!!

my roommate jessica's co-worker told her this video is his inspiration for life. A-MAY-ZING! it's so magical joyful tropical paradise heaven. what better name for this track than 'splash happy'??? iasos RULEZ. but i couldn't include only one vid from him - 'procession on the horizon' features some seriously psychedelic dude effects that only enhance the mind-bending power of his musical creation. now let us voyage into the enchanted forest where iasos plays the pipes of the pan, aka two little pipes at the same time! he's actually got some mad skillz. love that little touch of the faeries flying away at the end of the video. something tells me that iasos edits these videos himself... i highly recommend going to iasos.com, where it is revealed that he was one of the original founders of 'new age' music! the last video is super extra otherworldly insane - i almost started crying by the end of it. i think iasos is my inspiration for life now too!

wink is an amazing japanese duo that has created some of the finest gentle choreography in front of a digital background i have ever seen. 'where were you last night' is wink's foray into metal jams, with two of the sickest silver outfits i have ever seen - i'm dying. and their arm movements make full use of that glorious fringe. i don't know the name of the second song but i know it's a russian-inspired jam from their once again amazing outfits - full on russian hats and robes, big ass curly hair, lots of gold jewelry and gloves. so bizarre and yet still so gentle. 'boys don't cry' is a happy jam to contrast the strange forlorn-ness of the other two vids. who's your fave, the one in green or the one in orange? i think i'm leaning toward the one in green. p.s. check out youtube there are a bunch of other weirdo wink vids i didn't post here.

since today is my bday (!) i thought i would do the post i've been waiting to do - labyrinth. the soundtrack is among my top played itunes songs. david bowie as jareth is epic: the mullet, the leggings, the blouse, the bulge..... the best part of 'magic dance' is when he throws the baby in the air and it's so obvious that it's a doll and not a real baby. when he flips around the stairs in the 'within you' scene it's hilar. and of course my fave is 'as the world falls down,' a masquerade scene where jareth is extra dolled up. loves it!

valerie dore's songs are so mystical, so magical, from another time and place........ and she has extremely long skinny fingers.  these songs really set the mood for a legendary night of wizardry and spell casting.

modern talking's singer is the hair god of italodisco.  the glass sphere motif reminds me of david bowie in labyrinth.  i don't really know how to explain the flaming cello tho.
