ELECTRIC SALSA

i found this video within two clicks on youtube. sometimes i am amazed by how many awesome jams there are out there. and my sister actually sat through it and watched it with me so i know i'm not the only one that finds this vid entertaining! 'electric salsa' by off is a sweet talking jam, with a heavy accent of course. i like how all they did for this video was put a filter on it and that's the whole concept. i think at some points the guy starts talking in a pretend language. anywho, i would send this dude an invite to my house party!

ROCK TO THE BEAT

spiderwebs + pearls + black + serious silly robot club dancing = 'rock to the beat' by 101. there are only 5 words in the song: rock to the beat acid. but somehow her dancing makes up for the lack of lyrics - the spinning and the spiderweb spotlight and the pink nails are strangely hypnotic. i hope i don't start saying 'rock to the beat' in my sleep. actually i hope i do, that would be interesting.

multi-tiered keyboard + leather jackets + sunglasses + red bandanna + weird distorted vocals = 'heartbeat' by liaison d. another fab new beat jam. love the random people's legs dancing in the background.

YO-YO

PhotobucketPhotobucket
what do you get when you put three bellhops together, one of which looks like a blonde frankenstein, in a giant room of screaming fans while performing synchronized dance moves? plaza's video for 'yo-yo.' not to mention that the blonde bellhop frankenstein's voice completely does not match what i thought his voice would sound like. and how the heck does plaza have this many fans? but i would totes be one of those people jumping around singing yo-yo. i've put this song in my mental database for songs to play at a future dance party.

'just a techno groove' by new beat group dow jones looks like it was filmed on the same day as rhythm device's video for 'acid rock.' it's the same format except there are two girls in the group wearing matching outfits - mustard yellow brocade tops tied up and loose high-waisted jeans belted and with big holes. totes chic. for some reason there are a lot of strange crotch shots in this video. and the frontman has some really seriously insane dance moves. catchy song + hilarious video = pumpthatjam material.

FUN FUN

fun fun outbads all the bad italo music, but in an unbelievably rad way!  first of all, 'happy station' is one of the weirdest song titles ever and nothing about the video makes sense! dead people on the ground, random parked cars, some dude getting his own personal jam on, smoke in the air, candelabras and matching cutoff sweatshirts add up to one horribly magnificent creation. i love their matching pastel utility belts in 'color my love,' but i'm not so sure about the way they tie up their t-shirts to have the knot right on their boob. and what the hell is up with the random people fencing?

SAYONARA SHANGHAI

both of these delicate confections emerged from the genius of lee marrow, who also created 90s club group corona.  sayonara lyric:  japan, i love you even if you're strange.

mini synchronized egyptian dance rave in the museum in matching neon tucked in t-shirts and a smiley face shirt, mirror sunglasses wearing leader? duh!!! nothing about this video makes sense which means everything about it is amazing!!! extra factoid: the main guy in this video, patrick de meyer, produced technotronic's ultimate hit 'pump up the jam'. secret jam pumping connection!!

THERE WAS A TIME WHEN ROCK AND ROLL WAS EASY

...but now it is clean and heavy.  this is one of my favorite videos of all time.  seriously.  i wanna go to a dance party like that.  also doesn't the main guy look a lot like chuck bass?
