something about this song is so enchanting fuzzy magical. but still a bit spicy. especially when that robot breakdancer with a tie but no shirt on starts busting out his moves. and then freezes in place. and then an amazing kid dancer pops out! and then a girl dancer appears!!! AND THEY ARE ALL WEARING THE SAME OUTFIT!!! is that the look, coco? i don't really understand what kind of look they are going for. newsboy cap, leather jacket, white gloves and yellow pocket square all together? i don't know who coco is but she needs to get a new personal stylist.
somehow in my youtube travels i stumbled upon videos of the tv show 'dance india dance.' i am officially addicted. all these dance routines are HILARIOUS. the first vid features jaikumar nair gettin his metal props tapdance groove on. seriously one of the dumbest yet most entertaining dance routines. somehow it reminds me of a dance scene in aladdin when he's trying to escape the palace guards. the second vid is a super crazy creative jam performed by salman khan in a pretend straight jacket. his fancy footwork is just killer. the third vid is of alisha gettin her super dancer moves on. the best part is at 1:45 when she gets funky with that cd on her shirt. i'm sure there are even more insane dance india dance performances on youtube that i haven't seen yet!!!
never has there been a more hauntingly beautiful multi-lingual duet than 'china girl' by fun tomas. yes, his name is fun tomas. the blonde mullet clearly marks him as the westerner in this clubland china inspired set. seriously - the beginning of the video starts with sparklers coming out of a golden dragon statue. both singers have horrible lip-synching skills by the way. yes, i know it's hard to believe but they are not singing live. loving the woman's menswear inspired ensemble with suspenders and a button up with a sparkly collar. you go girl.
no, this isn't a long forgotten ace of base video, although it sounds like it totally could be! this is FREEBEE, represent! in the vid for 'true' there are lots of colors, psychedelic effects, and dancers in white hot pants amongst the singer's flying upper body with an amazing large blonde ponytail earring combo. this song is so catchy it's disgusting. or entrancing. either word applies. i like when the dude pops up and says 'so tell me, what is love?' oooo, so mysterious and alluring. i am being true to my feelings when i declare that i love this video and i love this song and i love bad taste.
somehow i found a vid by japanese power boyband tm network through one of my all-time faves, 'jabdah' by koto. anywho, 'just one victory' is so extremely music video perfection extracted from my brain that it's crazy! those costumes that they are wearing in the beginning BLOW MY MIND. and that insane creature in the background with one massive red eyeball?!! dying!!!! somehow there is a labyrinth-esque theme going on with the young girl being chased by monster dancer creatures. at 3:04 it transitions into a different softer melody, a nice lil interlude. 'come on everybody' is a little less sci fi and a lot more leather jacket heartthrob. although it does kind of look like this jam session took place in the forbidden forest from harry potter. 'love train' is a vid from 1991 and boy can you tell that tm network is in a different decade. long hair, straight brimmed bedazzled baseball caps, mandarin collar button up shirts. LOVING the colorful foil backdrops. sigh.
so pumpthatjam reader mita shared this INSANE jam with my by wacko supergroup cleopatra. the video for 'don't judge a book' features some of the craziest computerized vocals i've ever heard in my lifetime. this vid is the strangest combination of vocals and imagery that it's mind boggling. and actually quite frightening. i love how the youtube caption says this is an internation no. 1 hit. like, YEAH RIGHT! so frickin psycho. the other video for 'electronic sonic boom rock' is actually even more frightening because it shows what the real singer looks like an isn't just a computer animation. all the band members in this vid are the same person!!!! like what?! omg words can't even describe this one. it kind of freaks me out because i wear an ankh necklace everyday just like cleopatra. ahhh!!! you just have to watch and feel your brain melt. all bow to the power of CLEOPATRA.
OBVIOUSLY i love britney spears. everyone knows all her music videos. so i thought, let me dig a little deeper. well, honestly, this isn't digging that deep into my britney spears musical world. but anyways, the first pepsi commercial is one of my most favorite commercials in television history. i have an mp3 of this song on my itunes and listen to it regularly. epic song, epic dance moves, strange but still epic outfits. my fave part is her weird little move at 0:50. it's actually rather hard to do, believe me i've tried. there is another longer version of this commercial with bob dole at the end but i feel like all those random ppl in it distract from britney too much. the second vid is the pepsi millennium commercial that has brit brit traveling through the decades. secret fact: the little girl whose hair britney is braiding in the 70s is none other than baby sis jamie lynn! THE JOY OF BRITNEY YEAA!
