i am not ashamed to admit that i LOVE lizzie mcguire. i think i have seen this movie 50 times, my sister gets mad at me when i watch it because i recite like the whole script when its playing. 'what dreams are made of' is the spectacular finale, exposing paolo's real singing voice and letting lizzie shine during her popstar performance in the coliseum. ok first off, that outfit!!!! yes yes yes to the square bellybutton cutout on her top and the tear off skirt that reveals pleated bellbottoms!!! i also love how obvious it is that half the song is not lizzie's voice. and the BEST part is when lizzie faces her audience and does that wide armed shoulder shake thing that turns into fists of glory!

ok, so i majorly, completely forgot about this jam! i was a very devoted disney channel viewer and i remember this video being played ALL the time. krystal harris is like a more goth but more pop version of pink, + the dark haired girl from t.a.t.u. i kinda wished she had had a few more hits, im into this jam. and i love how howie and kevin from bsb randomly pop up! and yes, i think i was also kind of secretly into 'the princess diaries.' this song is going back into my itunes rotation asap.

for some reason this clip popped into my head today and now i can't stop hearing, 'top that! top that!' over and over in my brain. 'teen witch' is one of those movies that would randomly come on tv on a sunday morning and you would somehow wind up watching, and this is the best part of the movie. i the way the guys dance - it's like choreographed gay gangsta moves. i think my new mission for the month of april is to learn all the words to this rap. starting now.

bangs confuses me. he's from africa but his accent sounds russian. he keeps rolling his r's. and he fo sho don't have any bangs. maybe he meant for his name to be bangin'. whatevs. his super high budget music video 'take u to da movies' is super highly entertaining. just listen to the lyrics and let the music flow into your consciousness......

i have been waiting and waiting to do this very spooky post! 'the worst witch' was one of my fave fave fave movies as a kid and this song was the best part! tim curry's faces surpass even taco in level of nostril expression and lip curling. loving his bat bowtie. the jammin part of the song starts with some overly dramatic groaning at 1:46 and then turns into the best halloween song ever created. the lyrics to this song are hilarious - 'your teacher could become a sardine, your dentist could turn into a queen, has anybody seen my tambourine?' but the hands down best best part of the song is at the very end starting at 3:33. 'hairay, scaray, creepay, crawlay, haaalooween.' i might add that i like to sing that part at least once a day. lately i've been singing it a lot more to get in the ghoulish spirit. this vid is going in all-time faves!

DANCE MAGIC DANCE

since today is my bday (!) i thought i would do the post i've been waiting to do - labyrinth. the soundtrack is among my top played itunes songs. david bowie as jareth is epic: the mullet, the leggings, the blouse, the bulge..... the best part of 'magic dance' is when he throws the baby in the air and it's so obvious that it's a doll and not a real baby. when he flips around the stairs in the 'within you' scene it's hilar. and of course my fave is 'as the world falls down,' a masquerade scene where jareth is extra dolled up. loves it!
