to welcome pumpthatjam into a new decade i chose a future-y space jam because we are living in the future!! i don't know how i didn't know about rockets earlier - they are pretty epic. their costumes are sick, and the silver bald heads are sweet. i love the faces the main singer does and the stance he has while singing. 'future game' is amazingly amazing amazing. the set, the smoke, the silver shoulder action - looovveee. 'on the road again' features the rockets jammin while floating in a galaxy. 'ideomatic' takes place in a musical operating room with some girl vocals thrown in. happy new yearrrr!!!!!!

THE TRIBE

the tribe was a random apocalyptic teen drama tv show from new zealand that used to come on this weird channel, and somehow i became OBSESSED with it. when there were marathons of it i wouldn't move all day, and i entered contests on the tribe website and i won twice. i won some temporary tattoos and even a signed picture of lex! woohoo! i think it's because there weren't many people entering the contests... anyways i was so into this show that i ordered their cd from the website and it was horrible. but i forced myself to like it in some strange way. here are three of their music videos - 'abe messiah' is the theme song that has a freaky lion king-ish vibe to it. 'this is the place' was the song that would always play in the background on the show when the characters were sad or went to a dance or something. love the synchronized dance moves on top of the mountain. and i saved the best for last - 'you belong to me' takes the tribe members on a bizarro adventure to cheestastic tropical paradise. i don't even know what dimension this video belongs in. p.s. - yes, i know the words to all these songs.

i typed navidad into youtube and somehow i found these lovely videos. and by lovely i mean demented. i think the singer's name is munequitas. the way esta chica baila is strangely robotic. love that she dances inside a snow globe. these vids creep me out but i still watch them. i like the last video with a cameo from santa and a weird donald duck that looks like he's wearing a diaper jajajajajaja. i love the internet. feliz navidad.

just when i think i've discovered every boy band ever created i somehow uncover another amazing pop creation. worlds apart is my most recent find - the video for their song 'baby come back' features some intensely happy synchronized beach dancing in colorful and tastefully unbuttoned button-ups. there is an uncomfortable moment when one of the guys is straddling his g-friend in a speedo... anyways, 'i was born to love you' involves people on stilts and swings alongside, yet again, chest-baring band members in some purple warp tunnel. 'could it be i'm falling in love' has to be one of the most comically disturbing boy band videos ever. all i can say is i really hope this video helped to boost their orangutan fan base.

this video for the song 'knockin' by double vision is strangely hypnotizing. i had to watch it several times to fully absorb the fashion genius. i wish i had a rave to go to so i could copy these old ladies' style and makeup. forrealz tho, these grannies are killin it!

YOU AND ME

'you and me' by luke has to be the best talking jam in the history of time. i can't even describe the levels of amazing this video reaches. my favorite part is at 3:51 when luke says, 'yo, i don't think i can share you with another man. yo, cuz that's not me. i-am-not-going-to-share-you-with-another-man. can you read my lips?' then it goes into a strange interlude with three guys in long trenchcoats unbuttoned to their waists singing in the rain by a pool. at 4:31 one of the dudes hits a sweeeeeet high note. also love how the girls face is on the movie screen. this jam RULEZ!
p.s. notice the guy with the tag still attached to his baseball hat? i wore a hat like that once and a lady on the train kindly let me know that my tag was still on my hat. the tag is half the style lady!

sorry for my recent lack of posting - been a tad busy! but i return with a jam that will wipe away your winter blues. travel to the tropical wonderland of 'agadoo' by black lace. actually, make that a tropical, horribly magnificent musical wonderland. love the hawaiian shirt / tight leather pants combo. that's chic. also, the captions during the music video are extremely entertaining. my fave is 'woo! yeah! go!.' i aspire to learn this dance and one day perform it but i know that would only occur in a world of dreams.
